ANALISIS RHODAMIN B PADA PEMERAH BIBIR YANG BEREDAR DI PASAR KAPUAS MURUNG

Abstract

Lip color is a cosmetic preparation that is used to color the lips with an artistic touch so that it can improve the aesthetics of make-up. The use of harmful ingredients in lip dyes such as rhodamine B can cause irritation to skin cancer. This study aims to determine the presence of rhodamine B dye in lip rouge preparations circulating in Kapuas Murung Market. The sample in this study was taken from the Kapuas Murung Market as many as 8 samples with a totally sampling technique. Qualitative analysis was carried out using a preliminary test and thin layer chromatography test. In the preliminary test carried out, there was no visible change in the red color on the bottom layer of the sample solution and in the thin layer chromatography test the color of the spots between the samples and the standard was not the same and did not fluoresce under UV light of 254 nm, besides that the Rf value between the sample and the standard did not the same or close to each other. Therefore, based on the results of research from 8 samples of lip rouge sold at Kapuas Murung Market, it shows that all samples do not contain the harmful dye rhodamine B.
